Description:

Loch Ossian Youth Hostel

8 spaces available

See below for trip information:

Please bear in mind that there is no road access to the hostel or to Corrour. Any information you can give us about your arrival time & travel method would be useful to us & reduce unnecessary concern.

The weather can be quite intense up here (408 m, 1,339 ft. above sea level), so please be prepared! It's very easy to find the hostel from the station - walk straight up the jeep track, & when the main track swings left, keep straight on when you see the hostel and the loch in front of you.
If you’re arriving at night, please remember to bring a torch and check your batteries.
If you do wish to check weather try http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gfhdvtyrh#?fcTime=14... or MWIS or, which we are finding quite reliable

Water
Recent sampling by the Highland Council Environment Unit has identified that the water supply here at Loch Ossian is at risk from bacterial contamination.
We do provide an urn of boiled drinking water, as all water must be boiled before drinking, cleaning teeth, and preparing food which will be eaten uncooked. We are also providing sterilizing tablets! Alternatively bottled water may be used. Tap water is okay for hot drinks, cooking and washing.

Travel

Be aware that coming north from Glasgow the train splits at Crianlarich. Make sure you are in the right section, listen to train announcements & make yourself known to conductor as the platform at Corrour is very short & you must be at the correct door for leaving the train.
Please remember to book any BIKES onto the train, as there may not be places otherwise!
